Gloria Isaiah

Gloria Isaiah has sung all her life. She was involved with the Gospel Choir and Musical Theater programs in both her high school and college years. Yet, she never pursed a serious career in music. It wasn’t until she began to revisit her talents a few years ago that she began to slowly return to the arena.

It was the R&B and Jazz artist, songwriter, producer and composer Rogiers, that introuduced her at the Blue Note’s, Late Night Grooves, series, to a mesmerized crowd. Gloria or GG as she is called by her fans began the process of trying to record covers of Mexican Ranchero as arranged for Chavela Vargas, as she was a great inspiration. But it wasn’t until she connected with producer, Tyrone “The Wiz” Bradley and having a discussion on creating her own music, that she discovered she wasn’t just a singer and lyrist, but a songwriter as well.

Uniting her talents with the seasoned, Keith “the Captain” Gamble on Guitar, provided the key element that bridged both the Latin music of her culture with the American rock /soul she loved. The Band, was then formed with, Larry Preston on Drums, Roger Anderson on Keyboard and Ferdinand Morton on Bass.

Gloria is of Dominican and Puerto Rican heritage. She was born and raised in the Bronx and studied voice under the tutelage of the late, Ulysses Slaughter. She has performed at 275 Grand in Ft. Green, Brooklyn and the L Lounge in Harlem.
